  • I think the hate around grandpa Joe is entirely misdirected…

This 96 year old man (that’s his actual age) hasn’t been working himself to death every day and people are upset about that? Sure he spent the last 20 years in retirement but also that means he retired at 76!

Most of the hate around Grandpa Joe seems to just be “why can’t the poor just work harder and then they won’t be poor?” THE MAN WAS 76 WHEN HE RETIRED! LET HIM RETIRE!

Everything he did while in the chocolate factory was fucked tho I can agree with that…

Edit: nvm I thought about it more and I have no issues with him stealing food given how intensely food insecure his home is.

  • I used to be a (semi)pro gamer! Basically the college football of gaming… But like… It was Team Fortress 2 so it’s more like the college mens Volleyball of gaming…

    Anyway!

RGL Advanced Highlander Season 5 - Grand Finals.

lay civ 5 vs I Hate Mondays

Neither team was favored to win the season but after multiple upsets during playoffs, they both ended up there.

    It was EXTREMELY close!

The first round on Ashville went to I Hate Mondays with every round being almost dead even.

The second round, on vigil, went to a tie breaker within the round as lay civ 5 and I Hate Mondays trade blows. Eventually lay civ 5 got the points.

With a score of 1-1 the game went to a tie breaker on swiftwater…

Round 1 went to I Hate Mondays by about 30 seconds.

Round 2 was incredibly close. Both teams had better scores but ultimately lay civ 5 won with literally 0 seconds left on the clock.

The final round… The tie breaker of the tie breaker…

Lay civ 5 starts and gets a solid time. About the same as round 1…

And just like round 1, I Hate Mondays manages to sneak away with an extremely close victory. Making them the unlikely champions of Season 5 Advanced!

Despite division dysphoria having an undefeated score and even Home Depot Esports having more wins than both of the teams in grands… I Hate Mondays took home the gold and I firmly take the credit for it!

Of course… I was playing for lay civ 5… But I promise you… I was the reason that I Hate Mondays won.

  • I used to like it a lot… As a kid… As I’ve grown it seems more focused on being incredibly in the middle than ever actually making any sort of point…

Matt Stone and Trey Parker are just so incredibly "Enlightened Centrist* that it can be painful at times.

They have some good bits and some of their jokes have rightfully stood the test of time… But God damn… If you’re going to make a political show… Do something other than the most fence sitting thing possible!

  • Some tutorials on YouTube are a LOT better than others and I’ve found some to just be terrible.

Different methods for paper making give very different results and despite the good method being easy… It’s not the one that people seem to think of when they first start?

If any tutorial tells you to put the pulp on the mould and deckle itself… Do not listen… Put it into the vat with the water and let it settle… If you put it on the mould and deckle manually it won’t be level and it’ll be bumpy and way thicker than you want it to be.

Another fun bit though is that you can experiment with the actual paper itself. Ever wanted paper that glitters? Just throw glitter in with the pulp. Want blue paper? Due the pulp blue. Want paper thats better for certain art vs others? There are loads of organic additives you can put in that change the properties without removing the recycled nature of the project.

If you have a 3D printer you can even make 3D molds to put excess pulp into and make cups and such.

    I love this so much

  • I recently got deep into making paper!

It’s relatively simple, relaxing, and has a lot of repetitive tasks that take a while… So it’s been fantastic for reading audiobooks! I also get to recycle old paper and cardboard instead of putting it into a bin and hoping that it’s dealt with.

Every single piece of equipment can be made by hand for cheap though honestly I highly recommend a blender and a tub. Both of which could be replaced with hand made things but like… Why would you want to spend hours beating recycled paper to a pulp which you could put it into a blender for a little bit while doing something else.

It’s also great for my debilitating RSD because even though it requires a specific touch to be gained… Every step except for literally the very last one can be repeated at any point with no downside.

If the pulp isn’t blended right… Blend it more… If the deckle is unevenly covered… Just put it back in the water… Etc etc

I really think more people should do recycling stuff in general but this has been fantastic.
