I enjoyed it but admit it was imperfect. They should keep remaking it though, I’d happily watch yet another remake it in a decade or so.

Texas Instruments ROM Basic, then later PC-DOS (not MSDOS)
Good to know, thanks. I would have googled it eventually.
I remembered reading about it happening soon (?) for certain kinds of security updates (?) somewhere but it’s almost 2am here and I’m having difficulty googling a reliable and thorough source but it sounds like users will have to subscribe to Ubuntu Pro to get certain kinds of update, although it might be free under certain circumstances.
I don’t know, Ubuntu has treated me well the last decade but I’m willing to explore other distros if it seems like it’ll be unnecessarily commericalized. Will read up more in the morning.
Since Mint is a derivative of Ubuntu, are you being asked to pay for security updates? Using Ubuntu right now and looking to switch soonish
I miss hip hop
So, hey, can someone explain to me about Linux Mint, like since it is derivative of Ubuntu does that mean that the new system of having to pay for Ubuntu updates is inherited by Mint?
Lemmy is missing the small communities and frankly, most of the medium sized communities that Reddit has. I don’t find the userbase that toxic but of course there is the occasional twat to deal with, luckily the blocking system is more robust than Reddit’s. Hopefully user growth will continue and people that still use Reddit will promote Lemmy and the Fediverse there enough to feed the exodus.
They were amazing pioneers of shitposting and circlejerking but some people considered them something of a hate group for their callouts of specific subcultures. I’m suggesting that aspect of things that OP is describing isn’t exactly new.
But yeah, agreed, the swift, stark ban policy was very effective in creating a “civil” society there - idiots showed up to fuck around, bam hope they’ve got 10 more bucks if they want to try again under a different account.
Worst case? Covert Israeli influence to propel the far-right into power in Spain. A return to Franco-era fascism. Not terribly likely but it’s hard to imagine worse.

I used to use an electric toothbrush many years ago but heard it could cause receding gums so its storage. I like manual toothbrushes because you can buy the inexpensive ones and replace them frequently, electric heads are a little pricey to replace. Generally my tongue seems pretty clean but I’m going to get a cheapo tongue scraper and see if I notice any difference. Do you use one of the fancy copper ones or just the standard steel/plastic ones I’ve seen?
Is a tongue scraper really that much better than brushing your tongue?
I remember reading there was something like this back in the mid/late 00s too, maybe without the giftcards but you could sign up for email alerts when there was a forum thread that needed to be brigaded, long before even reddit was a thing.
Edit: read about it on Metafilter at the time but it seems to have been purged. If you’re interested maybe the post is findable on the Internet Archive
The classical conservatives are often good at barbecue and fixing/building things, and country music was okay in the 90s, I guess.
Porn, anime, sports, a bunch of video games I don’t play, and some spammy or obnoxious communities too. Oh, and foreign languages I don’t speak (until we get built-in translation)

He’s gonna sign that antisemitism bill isn’t he?
I agree with your point, but balaclava is the hat, baclava is the delicious Greek pastry.
Do they call them subterrenes (similar to submarines) in the industry or is that term a ridiculous steampunk conceit? Big respect here for those who tunnel
Did your coworkers crack a lot of jokes about The Underminer from The Tick and Krang from Ninja Turtles?
