Yes, definitely. Perhaps highlighted if it’s one of their first few posts or the account is new.

Beta is the wrong word, but there is quite a difference in stability between Fedora and Debian.
Yeah, it might be easy to install but you are also a beta tester of things that will be in more stable distros two years from now.
But with that said, I love Fedora, but with Gnome. I use Nobara for the gaming simplicity but with the vanilla Gnome spin. I’d recommend it to anyone, most Linux distros these days are pretty user friendly once installed.
I am convinced this is already happening. One example is the endless new accounts posting ibtimes links.
There are also propoganda websites posted regularly by new accounts (especially sowing disinformation about Russia’s war on Ukraine).
Basically be wary of anything posted where it’s their first post. Often they make accounts and don’t use them for months so they look older.
I also think astroturfing is happening but at lower rate than reddit.
Like you, I have no idea how we can counter this at scale.
Also I suspect I know @Dave@lemmy.nz IRL, but I’m not certain.
I guess that’s a consequence of telling the same anecdotes on lemmy and to everyone I see.
I never knew about it until now and I’ve used GIMP often enough, but if I was going to assign a keyboard shortcut, that makes sense. Ctrl +A select all. Ctrl + Shift + A select none.
Shift is the oppositer (reverser?). Tab goes to next field, Shift + Tab goes in reverse order. Ctrl + T open new tab in browser, Ctrl + Shift + T reopen last closed tab - OK that’s not exactly opposite but close enough.
0.19.4 was only released a few days ago. And Lemmy.world, the biggest instance, sure ain’t gonna be the guinea pig!
You’re not gonna grab some lactase pills with part of the cash, or spend that $15 on dairy free ice cream?
But this is a function of your stored energy, so if you don’t have enough fat to make up for your metabolic deficit, that energy will have to come from somewhere as a priority to keep your brain alive. Don’t put your body in that position.
So what you’re saying is I should keep excess body fat, just in case I need to eat only cottage cheese for a month?
You can’t keep your comment history on a brand new account.
Aren’t the Lemmy volumes bind mounts, so not in the docker volumes folder but instead on the file system as mapped in the docker-compose.yml file?
Unfortunately they don’t take requests for new subreddits anymore. In addition, they don’t mirror comments so in terms of answers to questions it’s probably not that helpful.
It looks like if you enter an “Other” option, it adds it to the list for others to select. Some troll must have added the others you can see on the results page they are marked as “(Other)”.

Yep, definitely. That’s the allure. From what I can tell, it’s likely there are tens of thousands of people making over $1m a year. However, there are hundreds of millions of people uploading videos.
Most people won’t make much at all, but if you don’t have the people at the top making millions then no one has any incentive, so those people are critical.
There are lots of peertube instances. The issue is that YouTube uses ads to pay content creators, and so everyone puts their content on YouTube in the hope of becoming the next big thing.
Lemmy has algorithms, it’s just that they aren’t designed to maximise profit.
If you have the sort type set to Hot, posts are ranked based on score (upvotes minus down votes) with a decay based on post time. Active is the same but based on the last comment time.
If you are on the website, there is a ? next to the sort option that will take you to a page explaining how the different options work.
But long story short, most sorting options are affected by down votes.
I have a 2016 Nissan Leaf. It’s a short range commuter car, it makes a great second car for a family but it’s no good if it’s your only car.
I live in a left-hand drive country that gets heaps of used imports from Japan (who is also left-hand drive), so they are cheapish and easy to get YMMV,. The entertainment system is not touch screen, it has physical buttons including controls on the steering wheel. I’m not sure if it can phone home since it’s no longer in a supported country. We use Bluetooth for music and that’s it as the Nissan Connect stuff doesn’t work here.
Ah yeah though not directly mentioned, I guess it does imply that.
From what I’ve seen, they aren’t building the games, they are licensing existing ones. There are decent games in the mix.
