Solter-Hunt thinks that the perturbations caused by the conductive shell could poke holes in Earth’s protective magnetic shield, potentially allowing more harmful cosmic radiation to reach the planet’s surface. An extreme, almost apocalyptic scenario could see the weakened magnetosphere allow solar wind to begin stripping away Earth’s atmosphere as it had done to the atmosphere of Mars billions of years ago. That, however, is certainly not an immediate threat.

Imagine we go extinct because satellite and plasma dust allows our atmosphere to get stripped by solar winds, similar to what it’s like on Mars, that is a wild f’n scenario to consider, life is just so delicate to maintain.

It’s definitely not as comedic as the trailers have shown, it’s a fairly serious series and deals with a lot of depressing stuff, overall I loved the first season, but knowing the fate of one of the major factions that I identified most with kinda bummed me out.

Yeah that’s most of what I was speaking to when I posted this, but Japan can also be very similar in that regard from what I’ve read and heard.

Japan and South Korea need to get to fucking or they need to become more open and attractive to immigration to stave off population shortfalls. There’s shitloads of south and central Americans looking for stable nations to call home, same with Africans, Middle Easterners, and south Asians, these folks are willing to serve in their militaries, contribute to their economies, and they bring fresh blood and ideas to cultures and industries. There’s also a whole lot of other westerners who are super into Asia in general but especially Japan and would move there in a heartbeat for the right incentives.

How about meeting with the Mexican president to plead for action, since he’s either too scared to take on the cartels, or too corrupt.

I channel that into anger, rather than hopelessness, but I absolutely get you, it’s hard being unable to stop things from happening that you see a thousand miles away, and being fix some of the easiest stuff to fix. Now with the political climate with one side of most governments leaning very fascist, and then what’s going on economically, everything is harder and more frustrating, much more expensive. But that’s why I choose anger over hopelessness, because fuck these assholes, I’m not going to let these bastards grind us down, and you shouldn’t either.

My advice would be to try to force yourself to live in the moment more, stay informed, but find other outlets for your life, even if it’s just trying some pot and hallucinogenics, and channel your hopelessness into something positive, something that helps, even if it’s just something that helps you, also music, listening to it, or playing it if you can, I can’t, but music is always very therapeutic. Books or audiobooks work pretty well too.

Good luck, I really hope you find a way to overcome your sense of hopelessness, I know it’s not easy, but life never is.

It was a really good interview, Lina Khan was essentially a guest that Apple TV had blacklisted from Jon’s now cancelled show, they break down some of the ways the Tech Robber Barons have been undermining regulations and laws, while making boatloads of money and manipulating the stock market. They then go into some of Jon’s issues with Apple, his former employer, and why they had Lina Khan blacklisted as a guest on Jon’s now cancelled show, and after hearing her speak I can see why, she’s smart, and knows the topic well, and has some good ideas on how to fix some of the issues we have with regulating and controlling not just tech, but all out of control businesses. Then they discuss AI, how corporate leadership is going to fuck workers over completely using AI, and how AI is currently just a bunch of bullshit being used as an excuse to take our jobs and pay us less.

You’re acting like the Catholic Church is well regarded in England at all, lol, a certain British King put an end to all of that, and the Catholic Church helped wage a proxy war in Ireland for centuries in retaliation, with the poor Irish caught in the middle being used and abused by both sides.
