I just bought myself a pair of parachute pants! They’re not nearly as loud as the wind breaker suits of the 90s and early 00s, but I love them.
The demo was fun. Apparently I’m a mediocre heartless monster.
I remember us having an Atari computer along with some Compac computer running DOS in the late 80s. The computers I grew up with were models that we got for free from my dad’s workplace whenever they upgraded. We ran Win 3.1 until about '98. Win 95 was prevalent in the house until the mid '00s. Due to my dad’s job, we always had a computer of some sort in the house.
The computers in my elementary school’s computer lab were Apple 2es - in the 90s.
I didn’t get a cellphone until around 2004/2005, and then it was a hand-me-down from my older sister. The Nokia 5110 - the brick, complete with extendable antenna.
Blinkies - those small gifs that blinked to give the impression of glitter.
iframes - precursor to divs, but definitely added that “only works in IE” feel.
More contrast between font color and background image - it’s too easy to read.
12pt Times New Roman font - gotta squint to read and default font for everything
Flashy gif banner at your header and footer - bonus points if they’re the same image
All urls default to underlined blue and purple.
Mouse cursor with trails. The more sparkles, the better.
Clip art. Clip art everywhere.
It’s a thing. It’s a disgusting thing, but it’s a thing. I remember, almost 30 years ago, my parents picking out a double wide trailer and they had to check a box to NOT get carpet in the bathrooms.
I don’t have one place I work at. My job requires I travel so I do a lot of driving (minor perk is I get paid milage and drive time). I normally work at two locations each workday, and it’s not uncommon for me to commute over 100 miles round trip. Until recently I was only working two days a week, and now it’s between three to four days depending on what I have to do.
Disclaimer: I don’t get paid nearly enough and am trying to find work closer to my rural residence. Corporate doesn’t want to give raises either.
Nothing. My two cents is just the microwave to heat up you water and add your tea of choice to steep afterwards.
Not sure if this would count, but here it is:
Boil water amount on the box in the electric kettle. Drain canned chicken. (Some brands need to be rinsed because of the amount of salt in the broth they’re canned in.) Add stuffing, butter (amount according to the box) and chicken into a bowl. Stir to incorporate. Add boiling water, stir again, and cover for 5 minutes. Fluff and serve.
I suggest using the low sodium version as there will be a lot of salt between the box of stuffing and canned chicken. Can also use leftover cooked chicken.
I know someone who had that. I remember their parents explaining how “red eye”, in photographs, meant a healthy eye and how their child had had a “green eye” which lead to the path of the initial diagnosis.
They are a healthy young adult now with a glass eye.
Yes they do. Usually one big ad on the side of the screen. And they may if you use certain screen savers. I think the city scapes one puts ads in it. Note: all the ads I mention are static images without sound.
The Professor would be better cast as the guy Ruby Rod says is stone cold deaf, and who eventually rolls a billiards ball back to Bruce Willis’s character (I’m drawing a blank on names this morning).
If anything, Bender would make a better Ruby Rod and could cast Roberto as the flaming bad guy entity.
Hermes would make a good Zorg.
Alrighty, I’m thinking way too much into this. 😅 I’m stopping now.
There are supposed to be two thumbnails of videos that show up. A golden Win and a red Fail. You are then supposed to click on your results (a draw equals a fail iirc) and it will take you to the next video.
Seeing a rainbow in the sky. I know it’s just sunlight refracting through the water droplets but it is so gorgeous. I still get like the dude from the double rainbow video years ago because I still feel that way.
Thanks for sharing! Downloading the demo now thanks to your post. Been so excited since I saw the announcement months ago. :):):)
The main theme from Laputa: Castle in the Sky. It’s been that for the past 7 or more years. May change it to another Ghibli movie theme song.
:) I love it. Makes total sense to this American lol
Clorox owns Hidden Valley Ranch brand of salad dressings. They also own Burt’s Bees cosmetics. I’m unsure which cat litter they own. They also own Kingsford charcoal.
Source: I’m a retail merchandiser who has done several jobs for Clorox the past several months and I’ve had to run around the store from one department to another for various audits.
Hidden Valley Ranch is owned by Clorox.
I have an account on kbin.social, lemmy.world, and sh.itjust.works. They are all linked on my respective profiles. I mainly use this one because .world had some issues where I couldn’t view comments on the connect android app about a year ago so I just switched. I like the app interface because it reminds me of rifgp, so that’s why I’ve never given kbin a fair shake.
