In the mariushosting tutorial I followed a tld was not used. https://mariushosting.com/how-to-install-synapse-on-your-synology-nas/ (Step 14)
Same for the conduit tutorial https://mariushosting.com/how-to-install-conduit-on-your-synology-nas/ (Step 12)
I’m still trying to understand this. I have “example.tld” but when configuring the server name, just used “example”, no tld
You’re saying that my server name in fact needs to be the full “example.tld”?
Thanks for the help.
Sorry to hijack — does my server name need a tld at the end? I’ve received both a yes and a no thus far. My server name currently has no tld but I’m not sure if that is what is preventing me from federating, or if no tld is just bad practice or something.
I’d create them if it wasn’t so difficult to host my own Lemmy instance
When will we get multi-community (multi-reddits) support?
For sure
I think it might be easier to just share the list of things America is ahead on
Make my own opinion or ask someone I trust
Improved performance?! Like actually?
With this and some iPad optimizations, y’all gonna solidify the title of best Lemmy app for a while

I not sure I’ve ever seen an inline gif play automatically in mlem
And thanks for acknowledging! I understand that resources are limited. Let me know if theres any design help I can provide.
yo just got the new ipad so Id like to request that the tab bar be moved to the side instead of the bottom. The feed viewing and scrolling experience would be much better. Other than that, I must say that the iPad app is in pretty good shape already.
Edit: wouldnt complain about a little more padding on the left and right of the posts. Feels a little uncomfortably close to the edges atm.
Edit 2: youre probably already aware, but I’ll add it anyway, the feeds image and web preview container sizes are unnecessarily tall, and would ideally shrink to the size of the image. On iPad (especially in split screen or slide over), the minimum height can take up the entire height of the iPad, making the optimization obviously poor.
Edit 3: “fullscreen” images have a maximum width that makes opening up images for a closer look almost pointless
Safari read later. Wish there was a good lookin open source option
