For win10, the install iso provided by microsoft puts ads for games in the windows store in the default start menu. I have installed many win10 pc s over the years, and candy crush (among others) is always there.

I’ve seen a number of these games come and go. Ark survival, raft, conan exiles, rust, and more that I’ve forgotten the names of. Obviously there’s a demand for a game like this, but none of them stand above the rest. If you ignore the aesthetic, then they’re all the same. Play one and you’ve played them all, and to me that’s boring.

krita is pretty good. Not as good as photoshop, but it’s 85% there and doesn’t do bullshit adobe things. There’s an addon for it that brings photoshop like ai tools using stable diffusion, and runs entirely locally.

I used firefox back in the day because it was better than IE, switched to chrome because of the convenience and features. I recently switched to brave because chrome became such a pain. If brave shits the bed because of this, I’m going back to firefox.
You’re absolutely right. Microsoft has systematically killed every reason I have for having their software on my pc. I’m not switching to linux because linux got better (although it certainly has). I’m ditching windows because windows now sucks more than I can bare.
It’s not the jack itself, but rather what it represents. The ability to simply and easily do what you want with a device you paid potentially thousands of dollars for, and it was taken away for no better reason than to save a few cents, or mimic a more successful company that wanted to save a few cents. Similarly, easily swappable batteries. The battery is likely the first component in a device to die, and when it does fuck you, buy a whole new phone. I used to never put my phone on a charger; I had two batteries and I’d just switch them out every morning, easy and simple. That feature was taken away by greedy megacorps who refuse to make a product that I actually want to buy, instead I have to settle for a worse product that costs more than it needs to and does less than what its replacing.
It’s the next step of the civil rights movements, which certain demographics of people are fighting tooth and nail to prevent (and undo past progress). If it were possible to simply say “All people get equal rights”, and leave it at that, we’d all be better off. We’ve had some big hullabaloos in the past about “do the blacks count as people?” and “do women count as people?” then “do the gays count as people?” and now “do the trans count as people?”. Once everyone gets over hating trans people, the haters will move on to another minority to persecute and we’ll have posts online about “Why do I have to hear about (label) all the time? Can’t we just leave them be?”
I’m to dumb for ARCH, and I find default Fedora and Ubuntu very annoying (although I haven’t tried them in a while). I did have a good experience with mint several years ago. What distros should I consider?

Sudo is just clicking “ok” with extra steps, thus making adding and removing programs more annoying, thus meaning the common user will probably just be logged in as root all the time. I challenge you to change my mind.
