If there’s one thing I disagree with it’s your generalisation of Lemmy, unlike Reddit or other centralised social media, there is no overarching culture and ethos that you can sum up in one specific description. Because of its federated nature, you cannot predict the mentality of Lemmy users, every instance is its own thing, and there may be so many reasons why someone would use Lemmy

When I was thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that sports that don’t require confrontation should just evolve and give up on the competitiveness. Swimming, javelin, whatever shouldn’t have the winner be the best out of every contestant, we should celebrate each and everyone’s force of will to better themselves first. We already have that with high jumping, where individual performance is rated Vs their height goal.
Give up competitiveness in sports where it isn’t needed, and you no longer have people melting down because someone has more muscular mass, or a different gender than expected.
Give up competitiveness in sports and you return to a celebration of the human body and it’s physical prowess, instead of childishly fighting for who’s best.
Obviously this doesn’t work in football, or sports with direct confrontation, that i haven’t found a solution yet, maybe during the next shower ?
Agreed, half an hour out of one’s day on a Sunday isn’t much to at least get involved however small it is
I would argue voting is one of the lowest forms of participation in the political life of one’s country, but that’s not a debate I’m ready to have at this hour

Governments and people around the world are actively trying to repress if not outright kill sexual / gender minorities, I do think they’re wronged on a daily basis because their very right to existence is not granted :(
I’ve been trying the W40k Speed Freeks open beta, it’s a lot of fun actually, I thought it would play like a Mario Kart but it’s more akin to a MOBA, in some ways. There’s only one game mode for now but I really enjoy the insanity and aesthetics!
Yeah, and it completely fucked over the new player experience as well, their New Light thing in the Cosmodrome was a such a step down, people didn’t know where to begin playing the game and had no clue as to what the Red War was, despite every NPC praising you
And then they cut content from D2, that was already released, and sold it back later as DLC

Apple repeatedly emphasizes that this problem was rare and affected a small number of users and a small number of photos. The company did not and does not have access to a user’s photos or video.
This is still a disconcerting issue, but there is comfort to be taken in the fact that the photos in question were not stored in iCloud and could not have resurfaced on a device after it was properly erased and sold.
Oh, if they say so themselves then I trust them 100% always trust the culprit words, thank you Apple for telling the truth (it’s the truth because they said so)

I just started using Local Send (https://f-droid.org/packages/org.localsend.localsend_app/) ; what a blessing this app is, no more uploading to someone else’s computer the cloud and downloading to my pc or vice versa, it’s so fast too
